I honestly can't believe I'm having to write this. This feels exactly like the offseason when I had to explain that you can't do a two part trade to circumvent the rules. It's not something that I monitor, because it's such an obvious "duh, you can't do that"...but here we are. I've received a complaint and I'm going to explain this here:
1.) You cannot intentionally sit starting pitching to miss the innings limit to tank games. 2.) You cannot intentionally sit a superior player for an inferior player to tank games. Individual days for matchups are fine, but you can't just bench a high end player all week...that's obvious tanking. 3.) If a player is on your roster and he obviously helps you win then you must play him. Period.
NOW...
4.) There is no rule about how many mlb players that you must roster. Full rebuilds are allowed. 5.) There is no rule that you have to have enough pitchers to meet the innings limit. Full rebuilds are allowed.
BUT...
6.) Tanking for the purpose of improving your draft slot while skipping the rebuild part is not allowed.
We are not going to get into who has or has not been doing this. The fact is that none of this is explicitly in the constitution...because DUH! I will add it now. BUT, if it happens again, that person will pick last in the draft this offseason.
This kind of stuff is exactly why commissioners close down leagues. Honestly, I don't need this kind of thing. Don't have time for it, don't have bandwidth for it. If you're thinking you might want to argue that I'm wrong about this...knock yourself out...la la la la la...can't hear you.
